Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,’ has garnered attention not only for its star cast but also for its title change from “India” to “Bharat.” Now, the film’s trailer has been released, offering a glimpse into an intense rescue thriller based on real-life events.
The film is inspired by the remarkable rescue mission led by Jaswant Singh Gill, whose unwavering bravery saved the lives of 64 miners trapped deep within the coalfields of Raniganj. In ‘Mission Raniganj,’ Akshay Kumar steps into the shoes of this real-life hero.
The trailer delves into the events of November 1989 when a devastating tragedy struck the Mahabir Colliery in Raniganj, West Bengal. While more than a hundred miners were promptly rescued, 65 miners remained trapped underground, surrounded by rising floodwaters. It was then that Gill took charge and devised an innovative plan to rescue all 65 miners.
Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, known for his work on Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom,’ ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue’ is produced by Pooja Entertainment and features a talented ensemble cast including Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Mukesh Bhatt, Akshay Verma, and Sudhir Pandey.
