The 2004 film “Khakee,” which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Tusshar Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is getting a sequel as it approaches its 20th anniversary next year. Actor-filmmaker Aryeman Ramsay, the son of the late producer Keshu Ramsay, who produced the original film, has confirmed the news.
According to Aryeman, “Yes, we are planning a sequel to Khakee. The scripting is in progress, and we have a basic plot in mind. We plan to start filming the movie next year as it will also mark the 20th anniversary of the original film, which is still beloved by fans and audiences.”
Aryeman also added, “My family has a close relationship with Akshay sir, but unfortunately, his character dies in the first part, so we can’t include him. Ajay sir (Ajay Devgn) and Aishwarya’s characters also meet their demise in the film. I will initiate talks with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) as soon as we have a proper script in place. I would also like Tusshar Kapoor to continue his character in the film. Along with them, we will have a fresh casting. I have spoken with Rajkumar Santoshiji, and I would only want him to direct the sequel.”
