James Cameron chose the name “Avatar” for his 2009 science fiction film because it referred to a concept in Hindu mythology.
In Hinduism, an “avatar” is a deity that has descended from the heavens to the earth in human or animal form.
Cameron felt that this concept of a being with a dual nature was appropriate for the story of his film, which features human characters who use genetically engineered bodies to interact with the alien inhabitants of a distant planet. Additionally, the word “avatar” has come to be used in modern computer technology to refer to a digital representation of a person, which also fit with the film’s themes of virtual reality and the blurring of boundaries between the real and the virtual.
Avatar consists of a planned series of epic science fiction films produced by Lightstorm Entertainment and distributed by 20th Century Studios, as well as associated merchandise, video games and theme park attractions. While the first part released in 2009 .Its second part came in 2022.Both the movies were box office blockbuster .
