Jackie Shroff, whose real name is Jaikishen Kakubhai Shroff, got his first break in films through a lucky encounter.
In the early 1980s, Jackie used to work as a travel agent in Mumbai. One day, he went to a hotel to meet a friend who was a chef there. At the hotel, he met the producer of the film “Swami Dada”, who was looking for a new face for his film. The producer was impressed with Jackie’s looks and offered him a role in the film.
Although Jackie had no prior experience in acting, he decided to give it a try and accepted the offer. “Swami Dada” was released in 1982 and marked Jackie’s debut in Bollywood. The film didn’t do well at the box office, but Jackie’s performance was noticed by critics and filmmakers.
After his debut, Jackie continued to work hard and landed more roles in films like “Hero” (1983), which was a huge success and established him as a leading actor in Bollywood.
