Navika Kotia, known for her role as a child actress in the movie “English Vinglish,” is gearing up to make her debut as the lead in Zee TV’s family drama “Kyunki… Saas Maa, Bahu Beti Hoti Hai.”
The show is set in Gujarat during the Navratri festival and centers around the Rajgaur family of Surat. The story takes a dramatic turn when the youngest daughter-in-law, Hetal, decides to seek separation, challenging the traditional roles within the family. This decision deeply affects Ambika, the eldest daughter-in-law and matriarch, who has always worked to keep the family united.
To counter Hetal’s belief that “Saas kabhi maa, aur Bahu kabhi beti nahi ban sakti” (A mother-in-law can never be a mother, and a daughter-in-law can never be a daughter), Ambika adopts Kesar, a baby left at the doorstep of their family orphanage. She vows to raise Kesar as a daughter-in-law, not as a daughter.
Navika Kotia portrays the character of Kesar, a kind-hearted and ambitious girl who knows how to balance her family’s dreams with her own aspirations. Kesar embodies a resilient attitude and firmly believes in the saying, “either you win or you learn.” Her unwavering commitment to Ambika showcases her dedication to a mother figure, and she becomes the future daughter-in-law Ambika needs to keep their family together.
