India batter Virat Kohli was felicitated by the BCCI on Friday morning, ahead of his 100th Test match in his international career.
Kohli has included himself in the list of Indian cricketers to complete a century of Tests matches in their careers, which also includes master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who holds an all-time record of playing 200 Test matches.
On the special occasion, Kohli was accompanied by his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma on the field as he received the cap.
“It’s a special moment for me,” Kohli said after being gifted the cap.
“My wife is here with me, my brother is there in the stands. It’s a team game and the journey wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. Thanks to BCCI too. I couldn’t have received it from a better person, my childhood hero. I still have that picture with you from my U-15 days,” said Virat.
The 33-year-old was presented with a special cap by legendary former cricketer and India’s head coach Rahul Dravid.
However, cricket fans on social media were divided on Anushka’s presence on the field during the felicitation ceremony.
