An intriguing teaser for the series “The Railway Men,” starring R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, and Babil Khan, has been unveiled.
Directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail, the series is set against the backdrop of the Bhopal gas leak tragedy and highlights the unwavering courage of Indian Railways employees as they worked to save lives during the city’s darkest hours.
On the night of December 2, 1984, methyl isocyanate gas leaked from a pesticide factory owned by the American Union Carbide Corporation. This catastrophic event resulted in over half a million people being poisoned, with an official death toll exceeding 5,000. Many survivors, as well as their descendants, continue to face chronic health issues such as cancer, blindness, respiratory problems, and immune and neurological disorders as a result of the leak.
“The Railway Men” is produced under the banner of YRF Entertainment and is set to premiere on Netflix on November 18. This gripping 4-episode series is character-driven and focuses on the unsung heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy.
