Alia Bhatt is set to take on a lead role in Vasan Bala’s upcoming film titled “Jigra,” and she will also be donning the producer’s hat for this project.
The film’s announcement was made in an intriguing way, with the release of an anime-style video that provides a glimpse into the movie’s world.
In the announcement video, Alia Bhatt is seen in a bustling city alley, carrying a backpack, while the off-screen narration hints at the film’s central theme. In a heartfelt moment, she tells her brother that since he wears her rakhi (a symbolic bracelet), it’s her solemn duty to protect him from harm, vowing to shield him at all costs. The film promises to be a cinematic journey filled with courage and sibling love.
Debashish Irengbam is the writer of the film, and while additional details about the cast of “Jigra” have yet to be revealed, the movie is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, and Somen Mishra. Achint Thakkar is the film’s music director, and Swapnil S. Sonawane is handling cinematography duties.
“Jigra” is scheduled for a grand release on September 27, 2024.
