Aradhana is 1969 Indian Bollywood (Hindi Language) Romantic Drama film. Aradhana is directed by Shakti Samanta and produced by Shakti Samantaand the story is written by Sachin Bhowmick. Its star cast are Sharmila Tagore,Rajesh Khanna and Sujit kumar. in the lead roles.

  1. The movie was the highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 1969
  2. Film Aradhana was a remake of American romantic drama film “To Each His Own”, released in 1946.
  3. Movie was also dubbed in Bengali language. Film did very well at Indian box office and also recovered its total budget and made very huge amount of profit. 
  4. The movie was remade in Tamil as “Sivagamiyin Selvan”, released in 1974 and in Telugu as “Kannavari Kalalu”, released in 1974.
  5. The film was a massive commercial success and is still considered a classic of Indian cinema.
  6. Initially, the lead actor of the film was supposed to be Shashi Kapoor, but due to his unavailability, the role went to Rajesh Khanna, who later became a superstar with the massive success of the film.
  7. The film marked the debut of the. association of Rajesh khanna and legendary singer Kishore Kumar as a playback singer. He sang the iconic songs “Roop Tera Mastana” and “Mere Sapno Ki Rani”, which became instant hits and are still popular today.
  8. The film’s music was composed by S.D. Burman, and it won him the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. The album is still considered a classic and features some of the most memorable songs in Indian cinema.
