As per reports, filmmaker H.S. Rawail discovered Rajendra Kumar while looking for a fresh face for his upcoming film “Aakhri Dao” in 1958. Rawail saw Rajendra Kumar at a gym and was impressed by his physique and looks.
Rawail offered him the lead role in “Aakhri Dao” alongside Nutan, which was released in 1958 and became a commercial success. Rajendra Kumar’s performance was widely appreciated by the audience and critics, which marked the beginning of his successful career in the Indian film industry.
