Shakti Kapoor, a popular character actor in Hindi films, got his break in the industry in the early 1970s. She got his break in Hindi films through a chance meeting with the legendary actor Sunil Dutt.
As the story goes, Shakti Kapoor was working in a small restaurant in Mumbai, and one day, he happened to serve Sunil Dutt, who was impressed with his mannerisms and dialogue delivery. Dutt asked Kapoor if he was interested in acting and advised him to try his luck in the film industry.
Encouraged by this, Kapoor started visiting film studios and meeting producers and directors. Eventually, he got his first break in the film “Do Jasoos” (1975), in which he played a minor but memorable character of a villain’s henchman.
However, his breakthrough role came with the film “Qurbani” (1980), where he played the villainous character of Teja, which received widespread critical acclaim and made him a popular name in the industry.
After “Qurbani,” Shakti Kapoor went on to play several memorable roles as a villain, comedian, and character actor in numerous Hindi films.
