Legendary singer Bappi Lahiri who popularised Disco music in India in the ’80s and ’90s passed away at the age of 69. As his son Bappa Lahiri returned from the US, the family began the preparations for his last rites on Thursday. His mortal remains were laid to rest as the inconsolable family, relatives and celebs reached the crematorium to pay tribute to India’s Disco King.
Bappi Lahiri’s family members were snapped preparing for the final rites. His son, grandson and more relatives were seen heading for Pawan Hans crematorium in Juhu.
Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa and daughter-in-law Taneesha prayed with folded hands after the last rites of the singer-composer. Bappi Da was cremated in a Mumbai’s crematorium. Bappa lit the funeral pyre.
Ila Arun, Bhushan Kumar, Vidya Balan, Mika Singh and Shakti Kapoor were among the Bollywood celebrities who arrived at the crematorium to pay their respects.
Bappi Lahiri was cremated at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans crematorium on Thursday. His son Bappa lit the funeral pyre. The priests comforted him as he broke down.
