Sarita Devi was the actress who played the role of Maa Shabri in Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan” TV series.
She was born on November 23, 1925, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and started her film career at the age of 22 in 1947.
She played various roles in several movies, including “Taxi Driver,” “Love Marriage,” “Devdas,” and “Parineeta.” In “Ramayan,” she played the character of Maa Shabri, who offers Lord Rama the berries she tasted to ensure they are sweet.
Despite the popularity of the show, Sarita Devi is not as well-known as the characters she portrayed in “Ramayan.”
