Suniel Shetty launched a new food delivery venture called “Waayu.”Details inside

Suniel Shetty, a Bollywood actor, has become the brand ambassador and investor for a new food delivery venture called “#Waayu.”

The app aims to offer affordable and timely food from hotels and restaurants in Mumbai, claiming to be 15-20% cheaper than other aggregators like Swiggy or Zomato.

The app was founded by Anirudha Kotgire and Mandar Lande of Destek HORECA and is backed by the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR). It aims to help hotels and restaurants log orders for food delivery without any commission.

The app has already onboarded over 1000 restaurants across Mumbai and has plans to expand to other cities and connect with a government-backed platform. The cost of the app is Rs. 1000 per month, slated to increase to Rs. 2000.

Waayu’s website claims to be an industry-specific food delivery app with zero commission charges designed for restaurants’ better profits, visibility, and freedom.

The app is available in two versions: Waayu Delivery Partner for delivery executives and Waayu for customers.

HOW TO USE THE APP

To use the app, customers can download it from the Google Play Store or visit the website waayu.app, sign up with a phone number or email address, enter their location, browse through restaurants and menus, select the dishes they want to order, customise their order with preferences, pay the bill either online or choose cash on delivery, confirm the order, and wait for the confirmation message from the restaurant.

They can also track their order status on the app or website and receive their food from the delivery partner. The app’s unique commission-free model has 16 revenue streams, and there is no per-order commission.
