Sam Bahadur: Vicky Kaushal Opens Up About Playing the Role of Field marshal Sam Manekshaw!

Vicky Kaushal recently unveiled the trailer for the upcoming war drama film, “Sam Bahadur,” directed by Meghna Gulzar. During the trailer launch, Vicky Kaushal discussed the challenges he faced while playing the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw on-screen.

Vicky expressed his gratitude to filmmaker Meghna Gulzar for casting him in this role. He mentioned that when she initially mentioned the script to him while they were working on “Raazi,” he searched for images of Sam Manekshaw since he had heard a lot about him from his parents but had never seen what he looked like. He was pleasantly surprised by Manekshaw’s appearance and thought he was quite handsome. Vicky felt he might not get the role, so he thanked Meghna for giving him this opportunity.

He went on to say that this role was the most challenging one he has played so far. It wasn’t just about mimicking how Manekshaw talked and walked but also about embodying the kind of person he was, which required a lot of effort. Vicky acknowledged that his appearance in the film was the result of a team effort and extensive research conducted by Meghna and her team.

“Sam Bahadur” is a biographical war drama produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the RSVP Movies banner, with a script written by Bhavani Iyer, Shantanu Shrivastava, and Meghna Gulzar. The film is set to clash with Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s “Animal” at the box office on December 1, 2023.
