With the rowdy bearded look of Ranbir skipping a beat in everyone’s heart and Vaani’s beauty attracting the audience’s attention, with much hope Ranbir’s Shamshera hit the theatres on July 22.
After a long wait of four years, we saw Ranbir in this much-awaited intense drama, which also stars Vaani and Sanjay Dutt. But shockingly, the Karan directorial did not receive a desirable opening.
Anticipation was high for the film, with fans elated to see Ranbir back on screen after four years. He was last seen in Sanju and fans have been eagerly waiting for him to make a smashing comeback.
Although the star cast of the film did not leave any stone unturned to promote the film, it unfortunately had a low opening leading to many shows being cancelled due to absence of audience.
The morning show occupancy report of the film is not great. According to the Box Office India, Shamshera took a low of 15-20 percent start.
Morning and evening shows were cancelled in many places. Shedding some light on the same, trade analyst, Komal Nahata wrote, “Another big film… but the same story continues! Shows of ‘Shamshera’ in the morning and noon/afternoon at some cinemas cancelled due to absence of an audience.”
“Dull ‘Shamshera’ opening plunges the already nervous Hindi film trade into a further state of panic! Unfortunately, collections of the big film are small!!,” he also tweeted.
